Main Life Skills: Teamwork, Effort, Humility, Ambition, Respect and Commitment
About the program: FC Barcelona and its Foundation are partnering with Escola Anglesola. The program offers opportunities for physical activity and sport to children and young adults who have functional diversity, viewing this as a fundamental right for the improvement of their abilities and autonomy. Around 20 participants aged 8-21 benefit from the One Team project which started in December and will continue until May, with sessions held every 15 days. In line with the Barça Foundation and One Team methodologies, work is being done on values such as teamwork, effort, humility, respect and commitment. Each activity includes different cooperative games and challenges that encourage the group to work together and learn new things. Sessions begin with a welcome period to explain what everyone will be doing during the session, in order to situate the participants and establish routines. The program is based on the following objectives:
- Ensuring the right for children and young adults with functional diversity to enjoy physical activity.
- Contributing to equal opportunities for children and young adults with different abilities.
- Promoting spaces for interaction, dialogue and meeting to foster cohesion and social inclusion.
- Raising awareness within the local community about the inclusion of people with functional diversity.
- Offering an empowering experience for children and young adults.
- Teaching healthy habits to children and young adults.
- Conveying the values associated with sport to encourage a change in attitudes.
