Description:
Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv is collaborating with The Center for Independent Living, a community center for people with disabilities from the Tel Aviv municipality. The program brings together seven participants with autism and seven Hapoel fans as a team, with the goal to use unified sports as a tool to better integrate people with autism into society.
The program runs from September to May, with two-hour weekly sessions, and the main life skills are self-autonomy, self-esteem and respect. Coaches and the professionals from the community partner aim to create a safe environment in the sessions where everyone feels safe and equal.
The program is funded by the club and the Municipality of Tel Aviv and is supported by Hapoel's first-team player Tomer Ginat as One Team Ambassador.
