About the program:
Since 2016, ALBA Berlin has enjoyed a successful partnership with Lisa Tetzner Grundschule in the Neukölln district, marking eight years of collaboration. Lisa Tetzner Schule, an elementary school in the Berlin district of Gropiusstadt, where the majority of school children come from migrant backgrounds; many of these kids face difficulties within their families and with social situations.
The students benefit from tailored support strategies developed by the school’s teachers. Together, they aim to help students overcome obstacles while promoting physical activity and engagement.
As part of this long-standing relationship, ALBA Berlin provides the school with dedicated coaches and social workers who contribute to the daily rhythm of school life, offering extracurricular activities and taking some of the workload off teachers. This ongoing partnership allows for mutual benefits, including access to the school gym for basketball activities supervised by our coaches. During longer breaks the gym remains open, ensuring that students can always stay active.
This partnership connects students with ALBA Berlin from the age of eight until 16. Through this comprehensive approach, we blend our club’s practice sessions with the school’s curriculum, creating a dynamic environment that fosters both academic and athletic growth.
