About the Program:
Youth care centre Malči Belič Ljubljana is a Slovenian non-profit Centre in the domain of the Ministry of School, Science and Sport. The Centre educates children and youngsters with emotional and behavioral problems, as well as those with learning disabilities (children with special needs). The institution offers and assures complete care, 24 hours per day, throughout the year, for its inhabitants. The Centre provides shelter for both sexes, aged between 6-17, which are included in primary (or secondary) schools. The Centre is a composition of a three-winged building, there are two educational groups (families) in each wing. They have six groups with 10 inhabitants altogether. Capacity of the Centre is 60 inhabitants maximum.
Cedevita Olimpija Ljubjana’s One Team program for this season is titled ‘PERSONAL GROWTH’. The program aims to provide additional sports activities, for children aged 7-17, both male and female, with a focus on helping young people with certain disabilities develop essential social skills for everyday life and active community participation. Conducted in collaboration with the Youth Care Centre Malči Belič Ljubljana, One Team Coaches, One Team ambassador and basketball players, it offers a “safe space” for 8-15 children per session to overcome their challenges. Additional activities, such as trips, special days, and business skills' development, are also planned. Besides the social life, basketball and business skills' development, club will also expand their One Team program through personal growth as healthy diet, how to cook, potential trips to other countries to expend participants understanding on foreign cultures.
