About the program:
The Special Olympics, which is empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports, is joining forces with Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade to launch an innovative program aimed at fostering inclusion, equality, and personal growth. This partnership is dedicated to creating a supportive, fun environment where young athletes aged between 10 and 18 can develop their athletic, social, and life skills.
This program offers a unique, consistent opportunity for participants, blending physical activities with life skills coaching. Through weekly basketball sessions and skill-building exercises, participants will enhance their confidence, teamwork, and respect for others. With activities held across various community settings – from basketball courts to visits to local sites like the zoo and chocolate factory – this holistic program is designed to be as enriching as it is enjoyable.
Participants gain access to professional coaching, attend Crvena Zvezda games, and enjoy special incentives such as receiving team jerseys and certificates for their achievements. This structured, inclusive sports program also benefits the local community, inviting businesses and volunteers to contribute to a more inclusive sports culture.
The program will proudly feature Ognjen Dobric and Mike Daum as ambassadors, who bring their passion for basketball and commitment to inclusion, inspiring young athletes to reach their full potential. Through sports, inclusion, and community partnerships, the Special Olympics and Crvena Zvezda are paving the way for a future where everyone can shine.
