About the program:

FC Bayern Munich is thrilled to announce a growing ONE TEAM partnership initiative that now includes the Münchner Waisenhaus, a contemporary child and youth welfare organization, as well as the Young Refugee Center (YRC), a group within the Munich-based youth welfare organization Just M.

The Münchner Waisenhaus supports children and young people up to the age of 20, offering a wide range of educational, social, and psychological support in both stationary and day-care settings. Through this collaboration, children from the orphanage gain opportunities to step outside their routines, participating in basketball training sessions, practicing at BMW Park, and attending Bayern games. These activities offer a welcome distraction and foster personal growth through sports.

The Young Refugee Center, Bayern’s newest One Team partner, is the first point of contact for underage refugees arriving in Germany unaccompanied. These youths, along with their supervisors, are enthusiastic about the chance to integrate into the One Team program. The initiative allows them to break away from daily challenges, connect with their peers, and experience the positive impact of sports in a supportive environment.

This expanded collaboration, made possible through Bayern’s partnership with Sixt and the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation, is part of the club’s One Team program, which focuses on community cohesion and inclusion. Joint training sessions for Bayern staff and One Team members ensure the entire office team is involved, enhancing the impact of the program.

Ambassador Oscar da Silva, a proud representative for the third consecutive season, continues to lead the program with dedication. Having returned to his home country, da Silva builds on his prior experience as a One Team ambassador with FC Barcelona, reaffirming his commitment to fostering community development through sports. Joining him is Niels Giffey, who brings his own experience and enthusiasm to the program, further strengthening its impact and reach. Together, they serve as inspiring role models for the participants, emphasizing the power of teamwork and inclusion.

To keep participants motivated, Bayern provides incentives such as basketball jerseys, game tickets, and certificates or medals to celebrate their successful participation in the program. The addition of the Young Refugee Center enriches the diversity of One Team, which is developing into a thriving and inclusive community initiative.

This partnership underscores FC Bayern’s dedication to leveraging sports to drive positive change, nurture community ties, and support the integration of vulnerable youth in Germany.
