About the program:
Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv is continuing to deliver its One Team program in partnership with the Center for Independent Living in Tel Aviv, a leading organization that promotes accessibility, autonomy, and inclusion for people with disabilities. The program brings together 18 adults, nine with disabilities and nine without, in weekly mixed-gender sessions at the Neveh Ofer Gymnasium. Participants, aged between 20 and 50, work with volunteer coaches to improve basketball skills, build fitness, and develop life skills such as teamwork, respect, trust, and leadership.
The project aims to enhance social integration, raise public awareness, and create shared experiences between people with and without disabilities. Alongside regular sessions, the program includes special workshops, guest speakers, and opportunities to meet club ambassadors. This year will also see the launch of a unified league with six to eight teams, a historic step for inclusive sport in Israel.
Participants receive official club jerseys, certificates of attendance, tickets to league games, and will travel together to a EuroLeague game in Sofia. Supported by Haldor Technologies, Isrotel Hotels, the Center for Independent Living, and the club itself, Hapoel Tel Aviv continues to use the power of basketball to foster belonging, dignity, and equality in the community, together with the club’s One team Ambassadors, Bar Timor and Oz Blayzer.
