About the Program:

Through the One Team program, Panionios B.C. reaffirms its belief in basketball as a force for inclusion and community building, using the sport to empower young people with special needs and strengthen ties across the community.

The program will focus on disability equality, promoting inclusion, integration, and personal growth for young people with special needs. Across eight sessions, participants will develop life skills week by week: building trust and communication, fostering teamwork and problem-solving, developing leadership and resilience, and culminating with a final celebration event. The program will also include a reflection session where participants can share their experiences, and two sessions featuring One Team Ambassador Nickos Gkikas, who will actively engage with the group and support their progress. The season will close with a celebration event featuring a final adapted game, social activities, and recognition of achievements.

Communication will play a key role in highlighting the program’s impact. Weekly updates will be shared on Panionios B.C.’s digital platforms. Local media will be invited to cover key milestones, while a dedicated One Team Media Day with Nick Gkikas will showcase the partnership and participants’ progress. Articles will also be published on the club’s official website to give visibility to participant stories and program outcomes.
