About the program:
In partnership with its Foundation, Real Madrid continues its commitment to the One Team program by driving social change through basketball. This year, the program will be incorporated into the Real Madrid Foundation’s Adapted School Basketball initiative, which offers basketball training tailored for individuals with cognitive disabilities.
With over 300 participants spread across 14 locations in Madrid, the program aims to enhance the social inclusion of individuals with cognitive functional diversity by fostering the development of motor skills, teamwork, and self-confidence. The sessions, which run twice a week from October to June, will be led by specially trained coaches who use the pioneering methodology of the Real Madrid Foundation. The participants, aged from 12 to 30, will not only learn basketball skills but also gain life skills such as respect, autonomy, and self-esteem.
Throughout the season, participants will enjoy various incentives, including visits from Real Madrid players, tickets to EuroLeague and domestic league games, and participation in friendly games. At the end of the program, each participant will receive a special gift and be recognized for their dedication.
The Fernando Martín Adapted School will lead the program, with a focus on promoting real inclusion through sport and fostering personal development. Real Madrid’s commitment to this project reflects the club’s broader mission of using basketball to improve lives and build a more inclusive society.
