About the Program:

For more than six years, Veolia Towers Hamburg has proudly carried out its One Team program in partnership with BasKIDball, a nationwide community initiative by innovative Sozialarbeit (iSo) and ING. The project offers the participants from economically disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to come together in an open gym environment, learn basketball, and build key social skills in a safe and supportive setting. Through active play and reflection, participants will learn how to manage frustration, support one another, and celebrate diversity.

Veolia Towers Hamburg supports this initiative by providing the gym and coaching staff, while BasKIDball contributes experience, methodology, and access to its national community network. Participants also have the opportunity to attend club events, visit EuroCup games, and take part in national BasKIDball gatherings.

The main objectives of the program are to:

  • Strengthen community bonds and social participation.

  • Offer a low-threshold, inclusive activity for children from financially challenged families.

  • Teach life values such as respect, cooperation, trust, and responsibility through basketball.

  • Create a safe environment for personal growth, inclusion, and positive interaction.

For Veolia Towers Hamburg, One Team is more than a basketball project—it’s a social mission rooted in equality, empathy, and the belief that everyone deserves a place to belong, to play, and to grow.
