About the program:
Wolves Twinsbet Vilnius, in collaboration with the Lithuanian Deaf Sports Committee, are excited to launch a transformative program aimed at promoting disability equality by including deaf young people into mainstream activities. This initiative seeks to enhance their confidence and social inclusion through participation in e-sports and basketball.
Targeting deaf youth aged 10 to 21, the program expects to engage approximately 15 to 20 participants. The primary objectives are to develop essential life skills that can be transferred between e-sports and basketball, fostering personal growth and community connection. Participants will focus on the following life skills:
-
Communication and Trust: Enhancing teamwork through non-verbal communication.
-
Focus and Strategy: Applying strategic thinking in both sports and gaming.
-
Teamwork: Emphasizing collaboration and problem-solving.
-
Adaptability: Learning to adjust strategies in dynamic situations.
-
Confidence: Building self-assurance through skill development.
-
Patience and Discipline: Understanding the importance of planning and self-control.
-
Leadership: Practicing decision-making and team management.
-
Resilience: Overcoming challenges and setbacks in sports and life.
The program is designed to promote long-term inclusion for deaf children by integrating physical sports and e-sports into a unique learning environment. This combination of basketball and e-sports enables participants to enhance both their physical coordination and cognitive skills, offering a comprehensive approach to personal development. By partnering with the Lithuanian Deaf Sports Committee, Wolves strengthen their connection with the community and establishes a sustainable model for future inclusive initiatives. All sessions will take place in a fully accessible setting, featuring sign language interpreters and trained staff available to support participants as needed.
