Ambassador: Adam Waczynski
Main life skills: Teamwork, Self-confidence, Self-discipline, Integration, Motivation, Diversity
About the program: For the third consecutive season Unicaja Malaga continues its partnership with Down Malaga, an association which was founded 20 years ago by a group of parents whose children have Downs Syndrome, with the objective of improving their quality of life and giving them more independence. The program will see 20 participants, aged 19-61, learn different life skills through specially designed basketball drills. Eight sessions take place remotely on a weekly basis, supported by Unicaja Baloncesto. The main objectives are:
To promote sports practice as a form of healthy leisure. To facilitate the acquisition of social skills based on the interrelationship of different teams. To promote a greater feeling of self-esteem and self-awareness. To train tolerance to frustration. To help accept limitations and learn to ask for help. To strengthen personal skills through teamwork. To reduce impulsive behaviour by developing self-control.
