About the program: Zalgiris Kaunas developed its One Team program together with Special Olympics Lithuania, which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities.
The main objective of the program is the integration of the intellectually disabled athletes into society, as well as helping the participants gain self-confidence and improve their communication skills. A group of 15 mixed gender participants, aged 12-24, will attend each session. The program will consist of 12 sessions with a special grand finale prepared and led by the participants.
The program is supported and funded by Ramirent, as main sponsor, and the Lithuanian Sports Support Foundation which is established by the Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science and Sports.
