Valencia Basket took another step towards a playoff spot as it defeated ALBA Berlin 88-94 on the road to extend its winning streak to four games. Valencia made all 11 of its free throws in the final 2:03 minutes to secure the win and improve to 11-10.

Jared Harper poured in 20 points to lead the way for the Spanish side, Chris Jones scored 16 and Kyle Alexander had 14 points. ALBA dropped its third straight game to fall to 6-15 despite Maodo Lo scoring 25 points and Johannes Thiemann tallying 17 points.

The teams started on fire with a combined 10 baskets without a miss or turnover and the score was 10-10. Josep Puerto had 8 points for the visitors, who had 8 straight points for a 10-15 lead. ALBA kept Valencia without a basket for 3 minutes and eventually pulled ahead 22-21 and the hosts were up 25-24 after 10 minutes.
The game remained close for the second quarter with Harper scoring 10 points in helping Valencia nose ahead 35-42. Lo tried to get the hosts back into the game and pull within 47-48. Valencia was up 47-50 at the break.
A Jonah Radebaugh triple temporarily pushed Valencia’s lead back to 7 points only to see ALBA reel off an 8-0 run with triples from Thiemann and Yovel Zoosman to go up 62-61. And the home side was ahead 68-67 after 30 minutes.
ALBA managed just 1 basket in the first 5 minutes of the fourth quarter to fall behind 71-77. Zoosman tallied 5 points in an 8-2 spurt to knot the game 81-81. Valencia did not falter the final 123 seconds from the free throw line, making all 11 attempts to stave off any comeback.
