Euroleague Basketball is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement in principle with the Spanish national broadcaster, Televisión Española (TVE), to televise the remaining 2012-13 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games of Real Madrid, plus selected games of other Spanish teams participating in the competition, through the company's all-sports channel, Teledeporte. This is the ninth year in a row that the top European competition will be available through TVE channels. Pending the final signatures of both companies, TVE will start its live broadcasts with tomorrow’s Top 16 Week 12 game between Real Madrid and Panathinaikos Athens. The agreement in principle reached between both companies also includes the possibility of extending these rights for the next two seasons.
With this agreement in principle all Euroleague Basketball teams will have national television coverage, which added together with the international coverage reached this season, means that fans in a record number of 199 countries and territories will be able to watch the top European competition. The previous record of 197 countries and territories was set during the 2009-10 season.
