LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne has signed Anthony Polite on a two-year contract, the club confirmed on Wednesday. Polite (1.98 meters, 25 years old) joins ASVEL after spending five years at Florida State University, where he averaged 9.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 24 games last season.

Polite, a native of Switzerland, suffered an injury in his first season at Florida State and had to redshirt. He then increased his totals in all the main areas – minutes, points, rebounds and assists – over the next four years, apart from his last year as he dropped from 10.1 points per game to 9.9. Polite has been playing for San Antonio in the 2022 NBA Summer League.
"It's a gamble we believe in. Anthony has a lot to prove, and he wants to demonstrate his abilities at the highest level. He will make up for his lack of experience in the European game with his energy, his commitment and his determination. And we are convinced that he will be the perfect complement to David Lighty," said ASVEL sporting director Michel Veyronnet.
