Crvena Zvezda brings home legend Milos Teodosic

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade made a big splash on Tuesday by inking veteran playmaker Milos Teodosic to a one-year deal. Among the biggest stars in European basketball this century, Teodosic (1.95 meters, 36 years old) arrives from Virtus Segafredo Bologna where he spent the past four seasons. During his time with Virtus, where he landed after a stint in the NBA, Teodosic led the team to the 2022 7DAYS EuroCup title as the EuroCup Finals MVP and the 2021 Italian League crown as the playoff finals MVP, too.

"By signing for his Crvena Zvezda, Milos fulfilled his long-time wish and finally will put on the red and white jersey of his beloved club, which he has supported since childhood," the club's statement said. "The club would like to thank him for the great desire he expressed during the negotiations, in every sense, in order to reach a final agreement and sign the contract to mutual satisfaction."

Teodosic ranks high all-time in assists, triples

Last season, Teodosic ranked second in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with 6.0 assists per game and also averaged 10.3 points. In his first season in the competition since 2017, he added to his career tallies and moved a few spots up the all-time rankings in several categories. Teodosic now ranks fifth all-time among all EuroLeague players with 527 three-pointers made in his career. He is also seventh in assists (1,281) and 13th in scoring (3,076) all-time.

Teodosic goes home to Serbia

Teodosic now returns to his native Serbia to play for the first time for his favorite club. He began his professional career with nearby club FMP and spent a season at Borac Cacak before heading abroad in 2007 to play for Olympiacos Piraeus. Teodosic spent four seasons there, helping the Reds reach the Final Four twice, and was chosen as the 2010 EuroLeague MVP when he led Olympiacos to club's first EuroLeague Championship Game in 13 years. A year later, he signed with CSKA Moscow, with whom he reached six Final Fours in as many seasons and won the 2016 EuroLeague crown. His six All-EuroLeague nods – including three first-team selections – are tied for third-most in EuroLeague history.

Teodosic’s trophy case also includes two Russian League titles, six VTB United League triumphs, two Greek Cups and two Serbian Cups. As a member of the Serbian national team, he has won silver medals at the Basketball World Cup (2014), Olympic Games (2016) and EuroBasket (2009). Teodosic has also played for Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA.
