Virtus Segafredo Bologna has made Devontae Cacok its second signing today, agreeing on a two-year deal. Cacok (2.01 meters, 26 years old) joins the club from CSKA Moscow, where he posted 9.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 20 VTB League games last season. The 2022-23 campaign was his first year outside of the United States, as he spent the first three seasons of his career playing in the NBA and the G League. Cacok will make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut next season.

From the NBA to Europe
Cacok began his professional career in 2019 with the Los Angeles Lakers, but he mainly spent time with the team's G League franchise, the South Bay Lakers, in the 2019-20 campaign. The next season, 2020-21, the American appeared in 20 NBA games, playing an average of 4:90 minutes and posting 2.0 points and 1.6 rebounds. In October 2021, the San Antonio Spurs claimed Cacok off waivers and he went on to play 15 games for the team in the 2021-22 NBA season, averaging 3.1 points and 2.8 rebounds in 8:10 on the floor. That season, he also played 36 games for the Austin Spurs, posting 18.9 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals in almost 30 minutes. Then, in the 2022-23 campaign, having averaged 18.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steals in 28 G League games with the Motor City Cruise, the Detroit Pistons' affiliate team, Cacok decided to head to Europe and see out the remainder of the season with CSKA. Now, he gets a chance to showcase his talents in the EuroLeague.
