FC Barcelona has signed former EuroLeague MVP Jan Vesely for the next three seasons. Vesely (2.13 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, where he spent the last eight seasons and helped lead the club through an unprecedented golden age. Vesely played a key role as Fenerbahce reached four consecutive Final Fours from 2015 to 2018 and became teh first Turkish team to win the EuroLeague in 2017. They also reached the championship game in 2016 and 2018. Last season, Vesely averaged a career-high 13.6 points on 63.1% two-point shooting, 6.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 22 EuroLeague games. In his time with Fenerbahce, Vesely also helped the team win four Turkish League titles and three Turkish Cup trophies.

Vesely has earned plenty of individual awards during his EuroLeague career. He was named the 2018-19 EuroLeague MVP and chosen to the All-EuroLeague First Team in the 2015-16, 2017-18 and 2018-19 campaigns. Vesely has also earned MVP of the Month honors three times - in January 2016, December 2018 and January 2021. He ranks 11th all time in scoring (3,008 points), seventh in rebounds (1,378), eighth in blocks (177), ninth in steals (271) and sixth in PIR (3,837). In 276 EuroLeague career games, Vesely has averaged 10.9 points and 5.0 rebounds.
He started his career with Slovan Ljubljana in Slovenia and soon joined Partizan Belgrade, which he led to three consecutive Serbian League, Serbian Cup and Adriatic League titles from 2009 to 2011. He helped Partizan reach the EuroLeague Final Four in 2010. Vesely has also played for Washington and Denver of the NBA and is a member of the Czech Republic national team.
