Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul brought back a familiar face by signing a two-year deal with former Turkish Airlines EuroLeague MVP Nemanja Bjelica, the club announced on Tuesday. Bjelica (2.09 meters, 34 years old) arrives fresh off winning the NBA title with Golden State Warriors, where he averaged 6.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists last season.
Bjelica spent the last seven years in the NBA, playing for Minnesota, Sacramento and Miami before joining Golden State last summer. He now returns to Fenerbahce, where he left a historic mark. Bjelica played two seasons on the Asian side of Istanbul and in the latter of the two helped Fenerbahce reach its first-ever Final Four while being named the 2014-15 EuroLeague MVP and earning All-EuroLeague First Team honors. He was the first Fenerbahce player - and the first player of any Turkish team - to earn those awards.
