Real Madrid hosts LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on Thursday as two of the deepest, most athletic frontcourts in the competition go face to face.
Keys to victory: Real Madrid vs. ASVEL

Real must keep its offensive groove
Real went on a four-game losing streak in which it failed to score 70 points in any of those games, including an all-time EuroLeague club low of 47 against Zalgiris Kaunas. Real bounced back by scoring 92 points in its overtime home win against AX Armani Exchange Milan. It shot 10 of 27 from downtown (37.0%) after shooting the ball horribly in those four losses, combining for 18 of 104 from beyond the arc (17.3%). Without its usual size advantage in the paint, former ASVEL forward Guerschon Yabusele should play a key role with his three-point shooting.

For ASVEL, stopping Tavares, Poirier is key
ASVEL should be on a mission to stop Walter Tavares and Vincent Poirier down low and has the right players to give them trouble. Youssoupha Fall, Kostas Antetokounmpo, James Gist and Victor Wembanyama give ASVEL head coach TJ Parker plenty of options to use against Real's centers. ASVEL ranks 17th in scoring (73.0 ppg.) and 15th in three-point shooting (33.4%). Finding open looks for its best shooters - William Howard, Antoine Diot and David Lighty - should help ASVEL be more competitive at WiZink Center.
