Three-time Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion Kostas Sloukas has crossed the Olympiacos Piraeus-Panathinaikos Athens divide by signing a three-year contract with the Greens, a move that has sent shockwaves across Europe. Sloukas (1.90 meters, 33 years old) has always been associated with Olympiacos, having spent 10 years of his career with the Reds, but he will now represent Panathinaikos in one of the surprise transfers of the summer.
Thirteen years after Spanoulis
Panathinaikos has already made a lot of noise in this offseason, first with the appointment of Ergin Ataman and then with the signings of Luca Vildoza and Mathias Lessort, but its capture of Sloukas – a legend of Olympiacos – is another level altogether. Now, 13 years after Vassilis Spanoulis made the reverse switch, going from Panathinaikos to Olympiacos, Sloukas has now gone the other way to OAKA.
