Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv has confirmed the signing of point guard Tamir Blatt on a two-year deal. Blatt (1.85 meters, 26 years old) returns to Israel after two years in Germany with ALBA Berlin, where he averaged 7.8 points and 4.6 assists over 30 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, including 14 in the starting lineup.
The Blatt family's history with Maccabi
Blatt knows Maccabi well as his father, David Blatt, spent two stints as the club’s head coach. Notably, he led Maccabi to the 2014 EuroLeague crown and now serves as a consultant and chairman of the professional committee. Blatt will also be reunited with head coach Oded Kattash, who helped launch his career with Hapoel Jerusalem and the Israeli national team.
