AX Armani Exchange Milan strengthened its backcourt by signing guard Stefano Tonut to a two-year deal, the club announced Saturday. Tonut (1.94 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Umana Reyer Venice, where he played the last seven seasons. He helped Reyer reach a new golden age with its first official titles in 74 years. Tonut won Italian League championships with Reyer in 2017 and 2019, lifted the FIBA Europe Cup in 2019 and claimed the Italian Cup in 2020.

Tonut, whose father Alberto won a gold medal with Italy at EuroBasket 1983, also played for Monfalcone and Pallacanestro Trieste before joining Reyer in 2015. He has also been a member of the Italian national team, which he helped to a fifth-place finish at the 2020 Olympic Games.
