Kenneth Faried posted a double-double on his Panathinaikos BC debut to help the Greens beat Paris Basketball and snap their three-game losing streak in the EuroLeague.

[Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/panathinaikos-aktor-athens/pan/)’s visit to Accor Arena was a highly anticipated one.

First, it marked [TJ Shorts](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/tj-shorts/012608/)’s first game against [Paris Basketball](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/paris-basketball/prs/) since he made history with his former club over just two remarkable seasons.

Second, Panathinaikos returned to the same court where it captured its first European title – the first star on its logo – back in 1996.

Amid all this, [Kenneth Faried](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/kenneth-faried/011284/)’s EuroLeague return was almost a footnote in the game’s storyline. But the veteran forward made sure his presence couldn’t be ignored, giving Panathinaikos fans plenty of reasons to celebrate his signing.

Faried wasn’t expected to make such an impact. Back in the early 2010s, he was one of the NBA’s most exciting players, earning the nickname “Manimal” for his relentless energy and intensity.

A 2014 FIBA World Cup champion with Team USA, Faried’s career since 2019 has taken him across Puerto Rico, China, the G League, Mexico, Italy, and Taiwan, with a brief stint at CSKA Moscow. There, he averaged just 2.3 points and 2.4 rebounds in seven EuroLeague appearances during the 2021–22 season.

Still, his enthusiasm was evident from day one.

“I’m always ready to play. I love basketball,” Faried said after his first practice with the team. “I try to stay in the best shape possible all the time, year-round. When my number’s called – if it’s called – I’m ready. I was watching the EuroLeague, watching teams do their thing, and watching Pana because of [Juancho \[Hernangomez\]](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/juancho-hernangomez/012712/) and [Marius \[Grigonis\]](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/marius-grigonis/002328/), my two guys over here.

“This is an opportunity. This is what I signed up for. I didn’t know how many minutes Coach \[Ergin Ataman\] would give me, but I just wanted to come out, play, and show that I can still perform at this level – that I’ve still got it at 35, going on 36.”

Faried started the game and immediately made an impact, recording 7 points, 3 rebounds, a steal, and 2 blocks in the first quarter alone. With his powerful frame, trademark energy, and hairstyle, he even resembled teammate [Mathias Lessort](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/mathias-lessort/003842/) – enough that some fans might have momentarily thought Lessort was back on the court.

His hustle was equally impressive. Midway through the first quarter, Faried lost a shoe during a defensive play. He still managed to block a shot, sprint down the court wearing just one shoe, grab an offensive rebound, and draw a foul. Shorts, who had tossed the shoe off the court moments earlier, sprinted back to hand it to him. Yet even shoeless, Faried never stopped fighting.

Panathinaikos eventually found its rhythm, with Shorts, [Kostas Sloukas](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/kostas-sloukas/001926/) and [Kendrick Nunn](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/kendrick-nunn/012774/) – the team’s trio of left-handed guards – sharing the floor late in the game. Trailing 84–79 with seven minutes remaining, Coach Ataman called a timeout and brought Nunn back in. The adjustment paid off immediately, sparking a 12–3 run that put the Greens ahead 91–87. With Faried resting on the bench, Juancho Hernangomez and [Konstantinos Mitoglou](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/konstantinos-mitoglou/007866/) stepped up down the stretch.

Faried finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds (including 7 offensive boards), 3 blocks and a performance index rating (PIR) of 26, already surpassing his total production from his entire stint at CSKA (16 points, 12 PIR).

“I’m satisfied,” Faried told EuroLeague TV after the Paris game. “I don’t really care about my stats, it’s not a big deal. We got the win, and that’s all that matters. Paris is a resilient team; they don’t quit. They keep pressuring you and trying to score fast. They had their runs, but we settled down, locked in, and figured out how to stop them. We were able to escape with the win tonight.”

As for Shorts, his return to Paris was a memorable one. He finished with 13 points, 6 assists and a PIR of 13.

“It always feels good to get a win,” Shorts said. “Everyone knows we haven’t been playing our best basketball and are still figuring things out. I’ve had some injuries too, so getting this win feels great. Coming back to a place that’s so familiar and winning in front of the people I spent the last two years with, it means a lot.”

It wasn’t a flawless performance. Paris dominated the offensive glass, pulling down 20 offensive rebounds and pushing the tempo with 76 field-goal and 23 free-throw attempts. But Panathinaikos responded with composure, dishing out 27 assists – 12 more than Paris – while committing the same number of turnovers (10). Shorts, Sloukas, and Nunn combined for 19 assists and just 4 turnovers.

Faried’s outstanding debut opens up intriguing options for Coach Ataman. Signed on a two-month deal, Faried has spent most of his NBA career at power forward, often thriving alongside big centers like Kosta Koufos, Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic during his best years in Denver.

It remains to be seen if he can sustain that same energy against elite EuroLeague frontcourts. Fans won’t have to wait long to find out – Panathinaikos visits Real Madrid, featuring Walter Tavares and Alex Len, in Round 11 on Thursday.

“We’re going to Madrid with confidence,” Faried said. “I feel like I can play at this level, especially after tonight. So I’m going in with my head held high, my teammates’ heads held high, and we’re focused.”

The club was known for having one of the most passionate atmospheres in European basketball at La Fonteta, and it seems some of that same magic has carried over to its brand-new home just down the road.

On Tuesday night, *Las Taronjas* defeated [Real Madrid](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/teams/real-madrid/mad/) 89–76 in front of a record 14,922-strong crowd in Round 10 – their second win over *Los Blancos* this campaign, but their first at Roig Arena.

Before the season even tipped off, Valencia lifted its second Spanish Super Cup after a 98–94 victory over Real Madrid in Malaga at the end of September. That makes it 2–0 for Valencia in this matchup so far this season, a measure of revenge after being swept by Real Madrid in last June’s Spanish League Finals.

Perhaps most impressive is the way Valencia has achieved these wins – playing a fast-paced, energetic brand of basketball that has fans inside Roig Arena buzzing.

“It was a super exciting game,” said [Omari Moore](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/omari-moore/014115/), who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds, when speaking to EuroLeague TV after the win. “The atmosphere was really good. I felt like our team played hard all four quarters. We played our brand of basketball and were able to come out with the win.”

Valencia has now won each of the seven games held at Roig Arena that have had fans in attendance, with four of those coming in EuroLeague play. Its only home defeat so far was against Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, a game played behind closed doors. With supporters in the stands, it's clear that *Las Taronjas* continue to go from strength to strength on their new home court.

“This is the EuroLeague – normally the arenas are full and everybody is excited,” Coach Martínez said postgame. “When we play on the road, we have the same atmosphere as today. Last week at Zalgiris was incredible. That’s good. For this reason, this competition is so important.”

“I think we played really hard and we played great together,” added forward [Nate Reuvers](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/nathan-reuvers/012738/), who finished with 14 points and 2 blocks. “It’s important to do that every night for these great fans, especially after the losses last week.”

The second half of this double-round week will see Valencia hit the road – where it is currently 2–3 – to face Paris Basketball before returning for back-to-back games at Roig Arena.

Tuesday’s victory marked Valencia’s first win over Real Madrid since February 19, 2021. Only [Josep Puerto](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/josep-puerto/006643/) and [Jaime Pradilla](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/jaime-pradilla/010393/) remain from that roster, with Pradilla not even stepping on the court that night. This is a new era for Valencia Basket – and one in which this current group seems to be thriving.

Even if Real Madrid has looked a bit like Jekyll and Hyde this season – perfect at home (4–0) but just 1–5 on the road – this was a statement win for Valencia, and one its fans won’t forget anytime soon.

Carsen Edwards had just spearheaded Virtus Bologna’s offense with 21 points and 5 three-pointers, as they rallied to defeat Anadolua Efes Istanbul, 99-89. In doing so, Virtus made history by draining 18 triples in the game, bettering the previous club record of 16, set in 2023 against AS Monaco.

“It’s not easy, but I always say, it’s ALL luck,” Carsen Edwards joked. “I just put it up in the air, give it a chance and hopefully it falls in. It’s all luck.”

On a night when Basketball City marked the passing of former player and Cup Winners' Cup champion Michael “Sugar” Ray Richardson with a respectful minute of silence, the home crowd was in full voice. The Black V faithful had plenty to sing about, too, in what may be the penultimate game at the Paladozza.

Coach Dusko Ivanovic’s men played a selfless brand of basketball throughout. Virtus had averaged 19 team assists for the season, but managed to dish out 27 against an Efes team that fought to keep up with the effective ball movement.

Alen Smailagic’s well-rounded performance saw him tally 17 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists, while making 5 of his 7 attempts from downtown. Edwards led the way in scoring for the victors with 21, hitting some of the tough shots joked about when it mattered the most. Matt Morgan’s 13 bench points played a huge role and Luca Vildoza sent a game-high 7 dishes to keep his team ticking along.

Returning to his former basketball home for the first time since leaving Bologna in the summer, Efes’s Isaia Cordinier suffered a rough night, going 0-4 from three-point land and logging just 4 points. Shane Larkin had no such troubles, leading the game in scoring with 25, earning 5 assists and committing just 2 turnovers, as he kept his team in the game until the end.

“Our fans help us so much,” Ivanovic stated. “We enjoy it here. Tonight, we won through offense. In the third quarter, we shot excellent and in the last quarter, we played defense a little bit better.”

The excellence of the shooting in this game cannot be overstated. Staggeringly, both teams had made 12 three-point shots by the 26-minute mark. However, Efes was not able to sustain that level of accuracy, unlike its dead-eye opponents. Down the stretch, Efes could not defend the arc and Coach Igor Kokoskov felt Virtus received a little help from above.

“They made some tough shots, some tough threes,” said Kokoskov. “Defending at the three-point line wasn’t really there, but they made a lot of threes, some lucky ones, so God wasn’t really on our side tonight.”

Creating some lasting Paladozza memories, the Virtus fans pulled their team over the line, according to Smailagic.

“Feels amazing, especially with these fans, who are our sixth player,” Smailagic said. “We play much better at home because we feel their love and energy. They push us to give it our all. This is our castle, we have to defend it.”

..and defend it they did. The 10-point victory means that Virtus moves to 5-5 for the season, while Efes slides to 3-7. There will be no rest for the wicked in this double-game week, as Virtus faces FC Barcelona on Friday, after Efes battles FC Bayern Munich just hours earlier.

In his first six EuroLeague appearances, Kenan Kamenjas scored a total of 4 points. Last week, he stepped into the playing time vacated by the injured Mfiondu Kabengele and netted 8 points. And then on Tuesday, the Bosnian big man had his coming out party.

Kamenjas erupted for 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead Dubai basketball to a convincing 102-86 victory over red-hot Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade. The victory saw Dubai improve its record to 4-6, while snapping Zvezda's seven-game winning run and knocking the Serbian squad from a share of first place in the standings. 

While that should have been a moment for Kamenjas to celebrate his performance, there were only “we’s” and a tribute when he spoke to EuroLeague TV after the game: “Great victory for us against a good team,, maybe the best team at the moment. We showed good energy from the first minute and we won. We need to analyze this game and need to prepare for the game against Zalgiris on Friday.”

Kamenjas finished his remarks by dedicating the victory to teammate Nate Mason, who recently had surgery for a cervical disc injury sustained last month. And Mason was not only on the mind of Kamenjas.

"I want to say something. I don't think in my career that I ever dedicated a victory to nobody. But this is a special occasional," Coach Jurica Golemac said at the onset of his post-game press conference. "I want to dedicate this product to our teammate Nate Mason, a guy who was with us from the beginning. A wonderful human being. Great teammate, great player. He's had some problems, but we are waiting for him from here. We want him to heal and to come back with us.

"The guys played like they were playing for Nate. Great energy. Great Focus. We were doing the mistakes, but... when you have 15 offensive rebounds against a team like Red Star, when you have 24 assists, that means that you give everything. That you pass the ball to each other, then you trust to each other, and that you were fighting. So great victory."

Dubai outrebounded Zvezda 35-26, with Kamenjas leading the way and Filip Petrusev adding 7 along with 13 points and 6 assists.

Kamenjas wasn’t the only Dubai player to have his finest moment of the season on Tuesday. Aleksa Avramovic, who missed the start of the season to injury, came off the bench to score 17 points. Even more than his stats, his fighting spirit – and that of David Bertans – were big boosts for Dubai.

"Avramovic came back. A very important player for us to give rest to the other guards, you know, an experienced player like I need," Golemac said of the veteran guard before highlighting Bertans.

"I need to say thank you to Davis Bertans, who was struggling with the injury couple last days without practice. He decided to play and this is this is the spirit that is bringing the victories."

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul has announced that guard Scottie Wilbekin is dealing with swelling in his right knee and has begun treatment to address the issue.

Wilbekin made his season debut in Round 4 after recovering from an ACL injury suffered on the opening night of the 2024-25 campaign, but he did not feature in [Fenerbahce's Round 9 win over LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/fenerbahce-finds-form-defeats-undermanned-asvel/) last Thursday night.

Fenerbahce has not disclosed how long Wilbekin will be out for.

Dozier's absence comes at a time when Efes is having to deal with the long-term injuries of Georgios Papagiannis and Vincent Poirier, while Rodrigue Beaubois is recovering from elbow surgery.

"PJ Dozier, who was injured during yesterday's game against Besiktas GAIN Istanbul, has been diagnosed with a second-degree tear in the back of his right thigh, and treatment has been initiated immediately," read Efes's statement.

"Our doctor, Uğur Diliçıkık, has stated that our player will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks."

Dozier, who had his best outing of the season so far in Round 9 by posting a career-high 34 points and a career-best 34 PIR, has averaged 10.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steal in seven games for Efes in 2025-26.

Fantasy tips, Rounds 10-11: The fun doesn't stop!

It's early November and we are about to enter Rounds 10 and 11 of the EuroLeague Regular Season. A double round gives EuroLeague Fantasy Challenge managers more chances to win prizes, get more victories in the Trophy Cup and climb the ranks, not just in the overall standings but also in all of the many private leagues in the game. First things first, [let's see how my tips went last week](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/en/euroleague/news/fantasy-tips-round-9-mid-tier-magic-and-value-finds/). I am not a fan of pointing out my own mistakes, but here I go.

I didn't go for any of the biggest stars in the game. My most expensive choice was Moses Wright of Zalgiris Kaunas, who scored 20.9 fantasy points and earned 0.3 credits. Rodions Kurucs of Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz had a score of zero and lost 0.3 credits. Isiaha Mike of FC Bayern Munich (15.4 points, 0.2 credits gained) and Quinn Ellis of EA7 Emporio Armani Milan (15.4 points, 0.3 credits gained) did well while Joel Parra of FC Barcelona (3.0 points, 0.2 credits lost) was a poor recommendation last week. Three wins, two losses.

Fantasy tips: Rounds 10-11

### Duane Washington, Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade (8.6 credits)

[Duane Washington](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/duane-washington/013370/) has stepped up big since Carlik Jones went down due to injury. In the last five games, Washington has averaged 17.8 points, 4.0 assists and a PIR of 14.6. Partizan plays at home against Monaco and on the road against ASVEL, and it is a good chance for Washington to keep shining. Biggest bargain in the game?

### Nadir Hifi, Paris Basketball (13.8 credits)

At the start of the season, consistency was a key issue for [Nadir Hifi](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/nadir-hifi/012640/) when it came to the Fantasy Challenge. Well, not anymore. Hifi has been sensational all season long, getting a double-digit PIR in every single games and at least 16 in each of the last four games. At 13.8 credits, he is the cheapest superstar in the game.

### Armel Traore, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne (8.0 credits)

[Armel Traore](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/armel-traore/010319/) comes off a monster performance last week. Despite his team's loss and many injuries, Traore came off the bench to get 18 points on perfect shooting, 5 rebounds and a PIR of 25. He followed that up with a good performance in the French League, amassing 10 points, 4 assists and a PIR of 13 in 23 minutes.

### Saliou Niang, Virtus Bologna (9.1 credits)

[Saliou Niang](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/saliou-niang/012687/) had a career-best performance against Baskonia, finishing the game with 18 points, 12 rebounds and a PIR of 35. He has been really effective throughout the campaign, hitting 73.3% two-pointers and 85.7% free throws without taking any three-point shot so far. Expect him to keep delivering in the near future.

### Wade Baldwin, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul (12.2 credits)

[Wade Baldwin](https://www.euroleaguebasketball.net/euroleague/players/wade-baldwin-iv/009863/) faces Bayern, one of his former teams, in Round 10. That is always a plus, but it's not the main reason why I am recommending him. He has been rock-solid all season, averaging 14.4 points, 5.9 assists and a PIR of 16.9. Baldwin is determined to keep making good things happen for the reigning champs.
