In a battle between EuroLeague teams, AS Monaco stayed on fire by edging Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade 88-93 in the Turkish Riviera pre-season games in Antalya, Turkey. Mike James led the winners with 20 points. Jordan Loyd and Donta Hall each added 13 while Jaron Blossomgame had 12 for Monaco, that led 40-47 at halftime and boosted its margin to 63-79 midway through the fourth quarter. Zvezda managed to get within 84-85 but James struck from downtown to seal the outcome. Ognjen Dobric led Zvezda with 18 points. Stefan Markovic and Filip Petrusev each added 11 while Ben Bentil and Stefan Lazarevic had 10 apiece. In the same tournament, Anadolu Efes Istanbul did not have much trouble to down Enisey Krasnoyarsk 83-65. Tibor Pleiss led the winners with 13 points. Elijah Bryant added 10 for Efes, which had seven other players with 5 points or more. Efes led 12-4 early and grabbed a double-digit margin, 24-14, at the end of the first quarter. The reigning EuroLeague champion boosted its margin to 42-30 at halftime and kept full control of the game until the final buzzer.
Valencia Basket downed Carplus Fuenlabrada 90-81 in Albacete, Spain. Kyle Alexander and Victor Claver led 5 Valencia players in double digits with 17 points apiece. Josep Puerto added 14, Jonah Radebaugh 12 and Chris Jones 10. Valencia led 43-38 at halftime, boosted its margin to double digits, 69-56, at the end of the third quarter and then again, 76-58, with 7 minutes left, enough to cruise to another victory.
In Manresa, Spain, Partizan NIS Belgrade defeated BAXI Manresa 96-98. Tristan Vukcevic scored the go-ahead layup with 2 seconds left. Mathias Lessort led the winners with 19 points. James Nunnally added 17, Danilo Andjusic 14, Kevin Punter 13, Uros Trifunovic 12 and Dante Exum for Partizan, that trailed 22-5 early. Partizan got within 77-70 at the end of the third quarter, Manresa boosted its margin to 89-77 but a 0-10 run brought Partizan back to life before Vukcevic made the difference down the stretch.
