This is what the protagonists had to say after the Round 29 showdown between ALBA Berlin and Olympiacos Piraeus.
Post-game quotes: ALBA vs. Olympiacos

Israel Gonzalez, ALBA Berlin head coach:
"I am very very happy. The effort of the players is great, the chemistry in the team is great. We played a good first half on defense but on offense we were a little bit playing too much pick-and-roll. In the second half, we kept our effort on defense while we were able to move the ball more, to move without the ball, and this is one of the reasons that in key moments we were able to find easy baskets. I am very happy how the players are implementing ideas that we were working on during the week. Maodo Lo had some really good games, so I don't know if this is his best game. But for sure his percentages are unbelievable. 83% on twos and threes, 100% free throws. That's a lot. I am very happy for him. He is a great guy, he is working hard and he is adapting well to the things we are doing.
Georgios Bartzokas, Olympaicos Piraeus head coach:
"I would like to congratulate ALBA. They played really well. They played with confidence and they had the motivation to play against us. On the other hand, we had a really really bad defensive game. Not only in the second half in which we allowed 53 points, but even in the first half we were completely out of our game plan about what we have to do against a team where basically the big men are the creators, or they are face-up players and they shoot the ball, and the guards are moving excellent away from the ball. We were not ready to play this, that is why we were soft on defense and we rushed on offense. We lost the pace of the game, we have to control it with our patience or with our ball movement. Whenever we did it, we were up in the first half, but when we stopped and tried to execute with one pass, or sometimes without a pass, ALBA punished us in transition. Congratulations to them. We are happy about our record right now, it is a big improvement from the last year for our teams, but we still have five games to qualify for the top eight and for us it would be a big achievement. Because Olympiacos was out of the playoffs the last three or four years. Last week we won at Bayern, we also won at Baskonia, so I cannot separate the games home and away, it is just different stories."

Maodo Lo, ALBA Berlin guard:
"This is a huge win for us against Olympiacos, such a high-caliber team playing very well this season. I am very happy that we were able to play with energy, with pace, and, at the end, we were rewarded. We were able to prepare for this game. We had four or five days of practice, which was refreshing for us. We were able to play with energy, and it is a great win for us. I think we shared the ball, played within our flow, within our rhythm and we were able to generate open shots and open cuts. Everything jelled today, it was a great win for us."
Oscar da Silva, ALBA Berlin forward:
"It's definitely a big win. I think we came out with energy and especially in the second half, I think we overwhelmed them a little bit. It was a good, collective effort, and I am really proud of my team we were able to gut this out. It's a topic we talked about, we obviously don't want to throw the ball away, keep the turnovers down in order to win. That's been a key to our success so far."
