Two backcourt players who are quite hot lately, Olympiacos Piraeus's Kostas Sloukas and ALBA Berlin's Jaleen Smith, face each other in an individual duel on Thursday night.
Marquee matchup: Olympiacos's Sloukas vs. ALBA's Smith

Sloukas is a tried-and-true EuroLeague veteran who is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. He is averaging more than 25 minutes on court despite coming off the bench in all nine games so far, contributing 13.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 6.4 steals for the Reds this season. He scored under 10 points only in Round 1, and after that, it has all been good for Sloukas. His experience and his cold blood in clutch moments is something that all teams would want to have in their bag of tricks, so if the game is close, expect the ball in his hands.

Smith is currently in his second EuroLeague season, but week in and week out he is demonstrating that he belongs. He leads ALBA with 14.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steals on average in six games so far this season, mostly as a starter. He missed three games with physical problems, but he scored 23 points in the last one against Zvezda and 20 more in Round 7 against FC Bayern Munich. He was held to 6 points against Real in Round 8, but he was back with a vengeance with 5 of 12 threes in Round 9, which is a perfect fit for ALBA's playing style.
