The game got off to a very slow start for Bayern, while Olympiacos established an early lead thanks to a scoring from Vezenkov, Isaiah Canaan, Fall and Walkup. After the first 10 minutes of play, the Reds were ahead by 16 points, 11-27. From there, Bayern was always playing catchup, but it at least managed to be a lot more competitive in the second quarter, outscoring Olympiacos 23-13 to go into halftime with the score at 34-40. Freddie Gillespie began to make his presence felt on both ends of the floor in the early part of the third quarter, but Fall's dominance inside the paint, the arrival of Sloukas from the bench and more excellence from Vezenkov saw Olympiacos do enough to keep Bayern reestablish a 13-point lead at the end of 30 minutes, having outscored the hosts 20-27 after the break. In the final quarter of play, Bayern managed to get to within four points of the visitors after Cassius Winston drained a three-pointer with 4:29 left. Yet, from that point on, Olympiacos used its experience to get to the free-throw line and see the game out, as it went on to finish with an 11-point victory, 71-82.
