FC Bayern Munich head coach Andrea Trinchieri:
"We had a very good first 15 minutes. We played really well on offense and defense. We moved the ball. And then I believe we didn’t have enough discipline to keep doing what was successful and we started doing things more individually. I understand I have a team with many players who have never played EuroLeague, but that was still the problem. Otherwise, we could have gone into the locker room up 15 or 18 points. Then we had a tragic third quarter, tragic. Mentally, physically, basketball reading. We were passive and the game was a new game. ASVEL was playing good defense, aggressive, and we were soft, sloppy, out of position. We didn’t take care of the ball. We committed a number of turnovers that we usually don’t have. Then we entered the last 5 minutes where it was very difficult but we again found a way to change the momentum and have a small lead. Then there was the unbelievable buzzer-beater by Obasohan, which would kill any team. But we stayed mentally in the game with two smart offenses and one second-chance offensive rebound by Giffey to secure the win. It was very difficult but I would say the best thing is the result. There is a lot of work to do. A lot of things to show, a lot of clips to show to our players. But it’s easier for a coach when you win to correct your players than when you lose."
