After launching a dramatic fourth quarter comeback to tie the series on Friday, Monaco will look to build more momentum as it travels to face a Fenerbahce team that has often looked unstoppable in Istanbul.
Sarunas Jasikevicius, Fenerbahce: 'We must not lose any focus'
Monaco was able to take an exciting victory in Game 2 despite the first single-digit scoring this season from Mike James, who will look to regain his usual high standards to help his team reclaim home-court advantage.
James's rare quiet night was compensated by in-form Jordan Loyd, who has scored 16 and 15 points in the first two games of the series, while Monaco will hope Donatas Motiejunas can again control the tempo inside the paint after netting 18 points last time out.
Fenerbahce has scored at least 80 points in nine consecutive home games, surpassing 90 points in six of those. The home team will hope to climb towards those totals again by maintaining its three-point shooting, which saw both Scottie Wilbekin (23 points) and Tyler Dorsey (25) drain 6 triples on Friday, but Fener also needs more inside play after none of its big men were able to reach double figures in Game 2.
Sarunas Jasikevicius, Fenerbahce head coach
"Coming back home. It’s very important to increase our level of basketball and to play every game better and better. We understand that it is gonna be very very difficult, very tough, physical and serious. Always every detail becomes of importance. We must not lose any focus. Hopefully, we can maybe start the games a little bit better but overall just continue playing our basketball."
Tyler Dorsey, Fenerbahce player
"Feels good to be back home. This is probably one of the biggest games of the series. We did our job on the roll, got one. We have to protect our home court now. One game at a time. Wednesday is a big one and you know how important it is. We gotta come out with the right energy. I think we have been starting off slow so we need to focus on that, especially in the beginning starting the game off right."
