Reigning champ Real (16-2) will look to quickly banish the memory of Wednesday's Clásico loss by handing more misery to Efes (7-11), which has lost five in a row despite the superb form of Shane Larkin, who most recently scored 20 points in Wednesday's loss at Valencia.

However, Larkin was restricted to his worst game of the season – he had just 5 points – when Real romped to an 80-103 victory at Istanbul in Round 2. Guerschon Yabusele paced the Spanish team that night with 22 points and 8 rebounds, and he is poised to return from injury for the first time since Round 9 to further strengthen coach Chus Mateo’s options.

In Game 5, Efes held on to win 88-83 and proceeded to capture the EuroLeague crown.

- In their 2020-21 regular-season clash in Madrid, Efes raced to an 83-108 victory. In that game, Efes scored 67 second-half points, which is the most points Real has allowed in a single half of a EuroLeague game since the 2007-08 season.

- Real Madrid ousted Efes with a 3-1 series win in the 2015 EuroLeague Playoffs. Rudy Fernandez averaged 13.5 points, 4.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds in the series.

- Shane Larkin made history in the 2019-20 season against Real in Madrid by becoming the first player with a streak of four straight MVP of the Round honors. Larkin powered Efes to a 75-80 road win, piling up 32 points along with 4 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals for a performance index rating of 36.

- The Efes single-game record for assists is 15, which Thomas Heurtel set in a game against Los Blancos in April 2015.

- Efes forward Will Clyburn and Real playmaker Sergio Rodriguez were teammates at CSKA Moscow for two seasons, from 2017 to 2019. They won the 2019 EuroLeague title together.

- Real swingman Mario Hezonja and Pleiss were teammates at FC Barcelona during the 2014-15 season.

- Real big man Vincent Poirier had 16 points, 12 rebounds and career-highs of 5 blocks and a PIR 35 playing for Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in an 81-82 road win at Efes in December 2017. He won his first MVP of the Round honor for his performance.

- Real guard Sergio Llull dished a career-high 12 assists against Efes in April 2015.

- Llull also had a career-best 3 steals against Efes in December 2011, and career-high 8 rebounds in January 2019.

- Real's Gabriel Deck made a career-best 9 two-point shots, playing a career-high 40:00 minutes in a 93-90 road loss against Efes in March 2022.

- Real guard Sergio Rodriguez set his career high in steals with 6 playing for Estudiantes Madrid against Efes in December 2004.
