The French club, which could give a debut to new signing Deshaun Thomas, has bitter memories from a 94-73 defeat in Belgrade in October. Rokas Giedraitis shined that night with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, and he also hit top form last week with 19 and 14 points, plus 7 rebounds, in each of Zvezda's big wins. ASVEL is also coming off a big win, with 27 points from Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot inspiring a much-needed triumph over Zalgiris.
- ASVEL and Zvezda played each other for the first time in the 1970 EuroLeague Quarterfinals and exchanged narrow home wins. They met four more times through 1988.
- In Round 1, Zvezda beat ASVEL 94-73 behind a club-record tying 17 three-pointers.
- ASVEL's Nando De Colo and Zvezda point guard Milos Teodosic were teammates at CSKA Moscow for three seasons, from 2014 to 2017, and led CSKA to three Final Four appearances and the 2016 EuroLeague championship.
- Zvezda guard Nemanja Nedovic earned MVP of the Round honors with a PIR of 40 playing for Panathinaikos Athens against ASVEL in January 2021. He had 33 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds in an 88-71 win.
- ASVEL guard Edwin Jackson was a teammate of Nedovic at Unicaja Malaga during the 2015-16 season.
- Jackson matched his EuroLeague career high with 6 rebounds playing for FC Barcelona in an 88-54 victory against Crvena Zvezda in March 2018.
- Zvezda forward Dejan Davidovac collected a career-high 3 steals against ASVEL in November 2019.
- ASVEL center Joffrey Lauvergne had a career-best 3 steals playing for Zalgiris Kaunas against Crvena Zvezda in February 2021.
