The Israeli team has lost three straight on the road but showed its potential in last week’s thumping win over Panathinaikos, inspired by 22 points and 8 assists from Wade Baldwin, whose backcourt battle with Facundo Campazzo will be crucial. Josh Nebo also had another big game with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and he will look to profit from the absence of Walter Tavares to dominate the paint. Real’s offense was again led by Dzanan Musa in last week’s victory over Olympiacos, as he has now reached double digits in points in seven consecutive games.
- These two teams will meet one another for the 71st time, having first faced each other in 1968.
- Real swept their 2022 EuroLeague Playoff best-of-five series. In Game 2 of that series, Vincent Poirier earned MVP of the Round honors after collecting a double-double of 16 points plus 10 rebounds for a 31 PIR in a 95-66 win.
- Real Madrid beat Maccabi 89-85 in the 1980 championship game in Berlin to win the EuroLeague. Rafa Rullan scored 27 points to lead Madrid to victory. Randy Meister added 21 for Madrid. Earl Williams led Maccabi with 31 points.
- Maccabi defeated Real Madrid 86-98 after overtime in the 2014 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Championship Game in Milan. Tyrese Rice paced Maccabi with 26 points. It was the first overtime game for the continental title since 1969.
- Real Madrid and Maccabi Tel Aviv faced each other in the 2011 EuroLeague semifinals in Barcelona, Spain. Maccabi overwhelmed Madrid 82-63 behind Chuck Eidson and Sofoklis Schortsanitis, who scored 19 and 16 points, respectively.
