Fit-again Nikola Mirotic will try to punish his former club in what promises to be a bruising head-to-head battle with Guerschon Yabusele. Real had no trouble in claiming a comfortable win, 88-71, when the teams met in Round 4, led by 19 points on 5 three-pointers from Sergio Llull. The Italian team has slipped down the standings by winning just one of its last five games and has lost four straight on the road, while Real is the only team in the competition with a perfect home record.
- Real holds a 19-3 advantage in head-to-head games against Milan this century, including a sweep last season with Real's Dzanan Musa earning MVP of the Round honors in both games. In a 77-83 win in Milan, Musa paced Real with 25 points and a career-best 5 three-pointers made for a PIR of 31. In a 91-87 home win, Musa scored 27 points and had a PIR of 38.
- In January 2021, Milan edged Real 76-80 for its only road win in Madrid this century. Current Real playmaker Sergio Rodriguez scoring 17 points for Milan in that victory.
- Sergio Rodriguez spent three seasons with Milan, from 2019 to 2022, and helped the team reach the 2021 Final Four.
- In 1964, Real Madrid and Simmenthal Milano faced each other in the two-game semifinals. Real Madrid bounced back from a 5-point loss in Game 1 to beat Milan 101-78 at Fronton Fiesta Alegre in the Spanish capital. Emiliano Rodriguez scored 31 points for Madrid and Clifford Luyk added 28. Real Madrid went on to win its first continental title.
- In the 1967 European Cup final played in Madrid – under a Final Four format that was suspended after that season until becoming the standard in 1988 – Real Madrid downed Simmenthal Milan 91-83 behind 29 points from Emiliano Rodriguez.
- Real Madrid and Milan met in the 1984 Cup Winners' Cup title game played in Ostend, Belgium. In the closing seconds, Brian Jackson drew a foul and sank both free throws to lift Real Madrid past Simac Milan 82-81. Jackson was the top scorer with 27 points.
