Fit-again Nikola Mirotic will try to punish his former club in what promises to be a bruising head-to-head battle with Guerschon Yabusele. Real had no trouble in claiming a comfortable win, 88-71, when the teams met in Round 4, led by 19 points on 5 three-pointers from Sergio Llull. The Italian team has slipped down the standings by winning just one of its last five games and has lost four straight on the road, while Real is the only team in the competition with a perfect home record.
- Real holds a 19-3 advantage in head-to-head games against Milan this century, including a sweep last season with Real's Dzanan Musa earning MVP of the Round honors in both games. In a 77-83 win in Milan, Musa paced Real with 25 points and a career-best 5 three-pointers made for a PIR of 31. In a 91-87 home win, Musa scored 27 points and had a PIR of 38.
- In January 2021, Milan edged Real 76-80 for its only road win in Madrid this century. Current Real playmaker Sergio Rodriguez scoring 17 points for Milan in that victory.
- Sergio Rodriguez spent three seasons with Milan, from 2019 to 2022, and helped the team reach the 2021 Final Four.
- In 1964, Real Madrid and Simmenthal Milano faced each other in the two-game semifinals. Real Madrid bounced back from a 5-point loss in Game 1 to beat Milan 101-78 at Fronton Fiesta Alegre in the Spanish capital. Emiliano Rodriguez scored 31 points for Madrid and Clifford Luyk added 28. Real Madrid went on to win its first continental title.
- In the 1967 European Cup final played in Madrid – under a Final Four format that was suspended after that season until becoming the standard in 1988 – Real Madrid downed Simmenthal Milan 91-83 behind 29 points from Emiliano Rodriguez.
- Real Madrid and Milan met in the 1984 Cup Winners' Cup title game played in Ostend, Belgium. In the closing seconds, Brian Jackson drew a foul and sank both free throws to lift Real Madrid past Simac Milan 82-81. Jackson was the top scorer with 27 points.
- Milan head coach Ettore Messina spent just short of two seasons on the Real bench, from 2009 to 2011. He had a 23-13 record in those two seasons in EuroLeague games. Sergio Llull and Sergio Rodriguez played under Messina in that period.
- Milan forward Nikola Mirotic spent five seasons with Real Madrid, during which time he was a two-time EuroLeague Rising Star Trophy winner (2011 and 2012) and a two-time All-EuroLeague selection (2013 and 2014). He helped Real reach the continental championship game in both 2013 and 2014. Mirotic was a teammate of current Real players Sergio Rodriguez, Rudy Fernandez and Sergio Llull.
- When FC Barcelona beat Real 93-80 in December 2021, Mirotic scored a career-best 31 points, tied a Barcelona club record with 14 free throws made and also grabbed 10 rebounds for a career-high PIR of 39 to earn MVP of the Round honors.
- Mirotic also tied his career-high PIR of 39 while playing for FC Barcelona in the 2022 Final Four semifinal loss against Real.
- Real center Vincent Poirier was a teammate of Milan's Johannes Voigtmann at Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz for two seasons, from 2017 to 2019.
- Poirier and Milan forward Shavon Shields were teammates at Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz during the 2018-19 season.
- Walter Tavares led Real to a 73-78 comeback victory in Milan in March 2020 with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Tavares accumulated a performance index rating of 29, earning MVP of the Round 27 honors.
- Milan's Nicolo Melli and Maodo Lo were teammates of Real guard Fabien Causeur at Brose Bamberg during the 2016-17 season. They won the German League and Cup double together.
- Lo had a personal-best 3 steals playing for ALBA Berlin against Real in January 2022.
- Milan center Alex Poythress posted his career highs in points (21) and offensive rebounds (8) playing for Zenit St Petersburg against Real in February 2022.
- Milan's Devon Hall posted his career high in assists with 7 in a home loss against Milan in November 2022.
- Melli posted a career-high 28 points for Fenerbahce Istanbul in the 2018 championship game loss against Real.
- Milan's Voigtmann had his career high in offensive rebounds with 7 playing for Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz against Real Madrid in February 2017.
- Voigtmann collected a career-high 11 defensive rebounds playing for Baskonia against Real in March 2019.
- Milan guard Shabazz Napier dished a career-high 8 assists against Real Madrid in March of last season.
- Real guard Alberto Abalde scored 21 points, a career-high, playing for Valencia Basket against Milan in March 2020.
