Walter Tavares became a dominant force in the paint for Real Madrid against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul on Friday night. He stayed on the court for 27 minutes, scoring 17 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, dishing 4 assists and making 3 blocks. He led his team in PIR with 26 and had a plus/minus of +28.
Tavares's perfect game boosted Real in win at Fenerbahce

Even more impressive was his terrific accuracy and productivity, as he only needed 7 field goals and 3 free throws to reach those 17 points. He didn’t miss a shot when he was on the court, going 7-of-7 and 3-of-3, respectively. Also, his size forced Fenerbahce’s big men to look for points outside the paint, which was not a sustainable source of offense for Fenerbahce in the end.

“The [good shooting] percentages come from the guys," Tavares said after the game, giving credit to his teammates.
“They give me the ball [close to] the basket, so it’s easy for me to score under the basket. They made great passes, so I had just to finish. They did the hard part and I just finished. If we dominate the rebounds, it means we control the game very well, so I think that helped us win the game."
