Zalgiris Kaunas has completed the signing of forward Arnas Butkevicius, who has penned a two-year contract. Butkevicius (1.96 meters, 29 years old) joins from Rytas Vilnius, with which he was the Lithuanian League Finals MVP last season as Rytas won the Lithuanian League title for the first time in 12 years. This will be his second time playing in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, having previously featured in the competition in 2014-15 for Neptunas Klaipeda.

Butkevicius started out at Neringos Kursiai and then moved to Sakalai Vilnius, where he stayed for the next two years. He then joined Lietkabelis Panevezys ahead of the 2012-13 season before signing for Neptunas, with which in the EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup in 2014-15 and 2015-16. In 2017, Butkevicius opted to join Rytas, playing the 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons in the EuroCup. Now, he returns to Europe's premier club basketball competition with Zalgiris.
