Zalgiris Kaunas forward Tyler Cavanaugh is set to miss extended time after undergoing back surgery, the club announced on Tuesday. Cavanaugh has been out since Round 15, when he missed his first game due to back soreness. After conservative treatment did not improve his condition, Cavanaugh underwent a surgery that is expected to sideline him for three months. In the first 14 games of the season, his second for Zalgiris and third in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Cavanaugh posted 5.9 points and 4.3 rebounds in a role off the bench. Zalgiris, holding 11-9 record heading into Round 21 road game against Panathinaikos Athens, has already lost star point guard Keenan Evans for the season after an Achilles tendon rupture, and will miss his replacement Isaiah Taylor for few more weeks with a hamstring injury.
