The reigning champ comfortably dismantled Bayern on Tuesday behind 18 points from big man Vincent Poirier and remains unbeaten at home all season. November's meeting at La Fonteta saw Valencia dominate early on before Real responded to win a thriller 73-76, with 17 points from Gabriel Deck enough to overcome 22 from Brandon Davies.
- There have only been 13 previous EuroLeague meetings between these Spanish rivals; five of those meetings came in their 2011 playoff series, which Real Madrid won 3-2.
- Only Sergio Llull and Sergio Rodriguez remain on the Real Madrid roster from the 2011 playoffs series; no current Valencia player featured in those games.
- Last season in Valencia, Real won 73-80 behind Dzanan Musa who scored 28 points and had a PIR of 32, earning him MVP of the Round honor for that performance.
- Last season in Madrid, Real's 95-91 over Valencia, Gabriel Deck earned co-MVP of the Round honors with a PIR of 26.
- Bojan Dubljevic set a Valencia single-game club record with 6 triples made in a 77-93 victory against Real in Madrid in October 2020.
- Valencia head coach Alex Mumbru had two stints as a player at Real Madrid, first between 2002 and 2004, and again between 2006 and 2009. He helped the team win the EuroCup and Spanish League in 2007. Mumbru was also a teammate of Sergio Llull, Sergio Rodriguez and Rudy Fernandez on the Spanish national team.
