Welcome to the opening matchup in our quest to crown the greatest All-EuroLeague First Team of all time!
Vote for the best All-EuroLeague First Team in history: 2024 vs. 2001

Each season, the top five players in Europe’s premier basketball competition are recognized with All-EuroLeague First Team honors. Over the past 25 seasons, these elite selections have showcased a who’s who of basketball legends, from rising stars to Hall of Famers and everything in between.
This summer, we're putting them all head-to-head to answer one big question: Which All-EuroLeague First Team stands above the rest?
We’ve seeded all 24 teams into a bracket created by our panel of in-house EuroLeague experts. Several times a week, we’ll reveal a new matchup on the official EuroLeague Instagram account, where you can vote for your favorite.

Right here on the official EuroLeague website, you’ll find a quick breakdown of each matchup – and which team we think deserves the edge.
Let the debates begin. Let the voting begin. Let the best team win!

-
Derrick Hamilton, St. Petersburg (age 35)
-
Gregor Fucka, Paf Bologna (age 29)
-
Dejan Tomasevic, Buducnost (age 28)
The 2024 team is a great team for this exercise. The team is loaded with scoring and then there is a beast on the boards for any missed shots. Can you afford to double team anyone? Perhaps the only weakness is Lessort’s free throw shooting!
Let’s not overlook the offensive firepower the 2001 team has with Ford and Bullock. Many may remember Bullock as a role player with Real Madrid, but he was a dynamo that season with Verona. And the combo of Fucka and Tomasevic is a menace as well. The hole on the 2001 team is Hamilton, who has a great season numbers-wise with a St. Peterburg Lions team that went 2-8 and never appeared in the EuroLeague again.
Would the 2001 team have the tools to guard the 2024 scorers? Because I imagine Hayes-Davis would find a way defensively to at least slow down Fucka. I choose the 2024 team.
