ASVEL gets its second win of the tournament
U18 ASVEL wins thriller against U18 Olympiacos, 83-84



Marvyn Wade hit a shot with 14.9 seconds to go and lifted U18 LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne to an 83-84 win over U18 Olympiacos Piraeus in the opening game of NextGen Ulm qualifier on Saturday morning. ASVEL improved to 2-0 in Group B, and will battle for a place in the first-place game against U18 Mega Super Belgrade, while Olympiacos lost its second match and is 0-2.
The Reds led by as many as 11 points in the third quarter, but ASVEL rallied and the game went down to the wire. Olympiacos had an 83-81 lead entering the final minute, but could not hold on. Stanley Risal paced all ASVEL scorers with 18 points, while Appolinaire Loussavouvou had 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Yohan Bassoumba collected 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals, while Wade finished with 10 points. Ilias Chaidemenos and Spiridon Papaioannou each scored 17, while Evangelos Bouzoulas scored 16 in defeat.
