For Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul fans, the club's only Turkish Airlines EuroLeague championship to date will live long in the memory.
With the 2017 Final Four taking place in the city of Istanbul, at Sinan Erdem Dome, Fenerbahce defeated Real Madrid – the No. 1 seed and a team containing the MVP, Sergio Llull – 84-75 to set up an encounter with Olympiacos Piraeus in the championship game.
As we all know, Fenerbahce ended up topping the Reds 80-64 after big-time performances by Ekpe Udoh, Nikola Kalinic, Jan Vesely, Gigi Datome and Bogdan Bogdanovic. As such, Fenerbahce became the first Turkish team to lift the EuroLeague title.
