Milicic, Slingerland help U18 Ulm edge past U18 Next Gen Team Ulm



U18 ratiopharm ulm – the host team at the Adidas NextGen EuroLeague Ulm qualifier – got off to a winning start by defeating U18 Next Gen Team Ulm 75-73, with Teo Milicic and Yanu Slingerland combining to score 41 points.
Ulm came into the fourth quarter holding a six-point lead (55-49), but the game had a nervy finish after Jamie Edoka knocked down a three-pointer to make it a one-point difference (74-73) with 11 seconds to go. Milicic split free throws with four seconds remaining to put Ulm up by two (75-73), and Edoka missed a potential game-winning triple at the buzzer.
Milicic netted 21 points and also grabbed 7 rebounds, while Slingerland posted 20 points. Ulm dominated the boards, outrebounding the Next Gen Team Ulm 45-35, led by 9 rebounds from Felix Kiehlneker and 8 from Paul Plato to go with Milicic’s 7. Edoka top scored for the Next Gen Team Ulm with 20 points, with Leonard Kroger adding 13 points and 6 rebounds.
