A battle for the top spot in Group A will take place on Tuesday night when Partizan NIS Belgrade hosts Joventut Badalona.
Partizan hosts Joventut in rematch of ’92 EuroLeague final



Both teams enter Round 3 with 2-0 records and tied for first place alongside Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, which plays at home on Wednesday. Partizan has impressed in its first two EuroCup games under Coach Zeljko Obradovic and leads the competition in scoring with 95.5 points per game. Swingman Kevin Punter is second in the EuroCup in scoring with 22.5 points. While Partizan has dominated offensively, Joventut has held opponents to a EuroCup-low 56.0 points per game, which is 10 fewer than the next-best team. Big men Vladimir Brodziansky (14.5 ppg.) and Ante Tomic (12 ppg., 6 rpg.) have been Joventut's top scorers thus far.

There is some rich history between these teams, who first met in the 1971-72 season in the old Cup Winners' Cup and squared off in the 1992 EuroLeague championship game in Istanbul. With Obradovic in his first season as a head coach, Partizan edged Joventut 71-70 on Sasa Djordjevic's three in the closing seconds. Two years later, Obradovic became the head coach of Joventut and led it to the EuroLeague crown at the Final Four in Tel Aviv.
