Main Life Skills: Motivation, Communication, Integration

About the program: The “ALBA macht Schule” project supports socially disadvantaged children and young people from a school in the area of Berlin with lots of poverty, which is regarded as a social hotspot. The project is run with Liza Tetzner Schule, an elementary school in the Berlin district of Gropiusstadt where more than 90% of school children come from migrant backgrounds and many of whom face difficulties within their families and different social situations. A group of 25 boys and girls from the elementary school works twice a week with a One Team coach and social worker provided by ALBA Berlin, using basketball sessions as a tool to focus on integration, motivation, communication and tolerance.
