About the program:

Dolomiti Energia Trento is continuing to carry out its One Team program with APAS Trento, a local association providing social help for inmates, former detainees and their families. One of the main focuses relates to the Spini de Gardolo Detention Center. The club is working with 15 inmates from the detention center aged between 26 and 35. The game of basketball can transmit important values for people’s lives, even for those who may have made some mistakes along the way. Playing sports in prison can bring some positivity to the inmates, not only to help maintain a satisfactory level of psycho-physical health but also to improve harmony within the institute, as it helps to lower the level of tension and conflict. That’s why some of the main objectives Dolomiti Energia Trento aims to achieve through its program is to help connect the inmates separated in different parts of the detention center and improve relationships, as well as letting them acknowledge their capabilities by focusing on what they can do and what potential they have. The participants work on skills such as motivation, reliability, personal responsibility and mutual respect over 13 sessions. For those who take part actively in the program, there will be a form of reward from the jail administration.
