About the program: For its first participation in One Team, JL Bourg En Bresse has decided to work with the Institut des Jeunes Sourds, part of the AFIS Association which support local people who suffer from deafness.

Over 12 weeks, a group of eight deaf and hard-of-hearing children will attend One Team sessions with Bourg to practice basketball, and also to develop essential personal life skills such as confidence, self-esteem, respect, open-mindedness and tolerance.

The main theme of the project, supported by mutual fund Aesio, is to put the participants ‘in the player’s shoes’, allowing them to discover the daily life of a professional basketball player through topics such as nutrition, mental preparation and the integration of different cultures within a team.
