About the Program:

Olympiacos Piraeus is carrying out its One Team program with the 1st Elementary School of Agios Dimitrios, which works with children with intellectual disabilities from the region of Athens and aims to promote the values of basketball and ensure the social integration and development of as many children as possible. This season’s program objectives are focused on building personal responsibility, improving communication skills and developing self-confidence by providing a safe environment for the participants. Moreover, the club aims to help its participants grasp their power as human beings and be assertive with their rights. The program starts on October 10 and continues until April, with 10 former participants and nine new ones between the ages of 9 to 12.

The club is also developing a separate One Team program with its first-time social partner Facility of Schisto, which serves as a controlled facility for temporary accommodation of asylum seekers. The facility consists of refugee families and offers services for their needs, while implementing activities to promote their social integration. Olympiacos Piraeus’s program is aiming for the social development of the children staying in the shelter and to integrate them into the Greek society by working on their self-confidence, all through the power of basketball. The program consists of 15 participants aged between six and 12 and is being delivered within the same range of dates as its other program.
