About the Program:
In Milan’s southern district of Gratosoglio, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Fondazione Laureus Sport for Good Italia continue their long-standing partnership to support young people through the transformative power of basketball. Through the sessions, the two organizations have worked side by side to promote inclusion, education, and personal growth among children from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Milan's One Team program focuses on helping young people strengthen their life skills and emotional well-being through sport. Weekly sessions will combine on-court practice with educational guidance led by Olimpia coaches and Laureus sport psychologists. The aim is to offer a safe space where participants can learn teamwork, communication, respect, and problem-solving – values that extend beyond the court into school, family, and everyday life.
This year’s edition builds on the success of previous seasons by deepening the focus on practical life skills: how to face challenges, make decisions, show empathy, and manage emotions. Using basketball as a metaphor, participants explore five “sporting skills” – respect, problem-solving, empathy, decision-making, and motivation — learning how to activate each one depending on the situation, just as players read the game to make the right move.
Through this initiative, Milan reaffirms its belief that sport can be a catalyst for social change, a way to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation while building stronger, more united communities across the city of Milan.
