About the program:
Zalgiris Kaunas has changed its One Team program partner for this season by uniting with Lithuanian Children’s Center Association for the first time. The club's new community partner is an association with community-established centers which cooperates with governing bodies. From there, it is able to assist with providing day care for children, putting on classes, meeting essential needs which some families cannot provide, and supporting family members by improving parenting skills. The organization's main aim is to integrate children who are at risk of exclusion into school and society; it looks to protect them from exploitation and prevent them from being placed into foster care. Zalgiris Kaunas's program involves 14-17 children of mixed genders between the ages of 10 and 12, all of whom come from economically disadvantaged families and have had difficult behavior. The aim is to integrate them into society by teaching them life skills. Zalgiris Kaunas will provide game tickets and invite guests to the sessions, with the program set to run between October 2022 and December 2022.
